Hi Jim,
The kayak was delivered today. It was packed well and everything arrived in good shape.
I took it out into the harbor and a short distance outside the breakwater for a couple hours and it paddles nicely, as described in the reviews.
I found it to be easy to paddle, fast, stable, tracks well and is very maneuverable. Wind was fairly light and seas outside the breakwater just had a little bit of waves and swell. Great conditions for this boat.
It only took about 3 minutes to fill both chambers to 8 PSI using a powered sup pump (10 is max but 8 was sufficient and less likely to cause over inflation problems). I also inflated it with the hand pump and it wasn’t very difficult. Way less pumping than my inflatable paddle boards.
I ordered a basic gel seat cushion to add more padding since the seat is a little hard but the back support is pretty good.
I’m going to paddle it more this weekend and am looking forward to it. I’ll let you know if I have any additional feedback after that.
